About

The label started in my old dorm room with a strong DIY foundation focused on community and art. Ten years later, SDR has released 125+ albums from local, national, and international bands, ranging in genres from punk/hardcore to indie and alternative-rock.

Branding

The Sunday Drive Records logo was conceived in a sketchbook during summer school, with the goal of capturing the essence of a "Sunday Drive" in the simplest form possible. This was achieved with just a few strokes and a circle. After several iterations, the final logo emerged—true to its original vision while versatile enough to be used as a standalone mark or within a wordmark. It remains the defining logo used across all branding today.

Website

After an initial redesign in 2022, the project was revisited and launched in 2024. Collaborating with James Rogers of Throne Design, we maintained the original design foundation while elevating the aesthetics to create a more contemporary look. James developed the site on Shopify, and each release now offers more detailed information and credits, providing visitors with deeper insights while browsing and shopping for records.

Live at SDR

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk series, Live at SDR is filmed and produced in the Sunday Drive office whenever bands tour through San Antonio, TX.

Sunday Communications

In late 2024, a subsidiary brand was launched to expand into media beyond music. The first release under this new initiative was a zine titled Unfulfilled, which I designed. It features interviews with punk and hardcore musicians, aligning with the ethos of Sunday Drive Records.
